The CZU Lightning Fire Complex completely devastated Big Basin, and the park has been closed since the fire broke out in mid-August of 2020. The area is currently a blank slate, and the California State Parks team recently launched their Reimagining Big Basin campaign to evaluate how the park can be redesigned to improve both conservation and recreation on the property. Our professional Trail Crew will assist in trail rehabilitation and new construction throughout the park, but we could use your voice now in park planning discussions!

This is a big deal. We have the opportunity to influence the redesign and connectivity throughout California’s oldest State Park. From our conversations with park managers, we know that they are looking for ways to improve access, create multi-use trail connectivity and relocate major park resources. Now is our chance to speak up for the trail future we want to see in Big Basin! Either attend this Thursday’s event or fill out the survey to make sure your voice is heard.
