Demo Days are Coming! Help Us Reopen Trails in Soquel Demonstration State Forest

February 16, 2023
Recent storm damage has kept SDSF trails closed to the public. Join us this March as we rebuild trails and get back out there together.

This March, we’re on a mission to get you back out on trails throughout Soquel Demonstration State Forest (SDSF). While the forest is currently closed for recreation due to storm damage, we’ve partnered with CAL FIRE to host eight special “Demo Days'' volunteer events out in the forest and help rebuild damaged trails.

We’re dedicating everything we have to Demo Days this March. We’ll have our SCMTS professional Trail Crew out in the field five days a week with heavy machinery, plus also host bi-weekly volunteer events. We’ll work throughout the forest on rider favorites like Flow, Sawpit, Braille, Ridge, and Corral Trails to remove fallen trees, repair trail tread, and rebuild berms and other trail features that make these trails so fun (and sustainable!).

Demo Days includes:

  • Four weeks of trail work from our professional SCMTS Trail Crew

  • Eight volunteer events in the forest, including two Dig Days

  • A celebratory BBQ, social ride, and raffle for volunteers out in the forest

Join us at one of our upcoming events to earn your turns and put some love back into SDSF trails.

Join our SCMTS Trail Crew for Friday dig sessions, or come out to one of the two Saturday Dig Days to get your hands dirty and be a part of the restoration effort. All volunteers who participate in a Demo Days event will be invited to a social ride and barbecue celebration, including a raffle, on Saturday, March 18.

DEMO DAYS ON HOLD UNTIL SDSF IS ACCESSIBLE
