Crews worked on correcting problems that developed during this wet winter on on Segments 2 and 3 of the flow trail including a minor reroute of one of the turns. Our hope is that these fixes will prevent future issues from developing in these areas. Kathy King, one of our dedicated Trail Crew Leaders, explained that "we're trying to get rid of all this mud so when you're coming down the trail on your bike you won't hit this big slog. We've moving rocks and pavers up and down the hill to fill these. We're trying to prevent this from happening so we won't have to do this again next year." After work wrapped up, those who brought their bikes had the privilege of riding the trail. After enjoying some flow, volunteers adjourned to the parking lot for refreshments and a raffle. Massive thanks to Mick’s Automotive for sponsoring the Dig Day, with much appreciation as well to Verve Coffee, nuun hydration, Archer Components and Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing for their part in fueling our volunteers. We want to shoutout Specialized for donating tons of cool swag for our volunteer raffles throughout the season as well. Tracy, the owner of Mick's Automotive, has been supporting Dig Days and donating to MBOSC for 15 years. He says, "I do it because it's one way to give back to what has given to me for almost my whole life. I've been mountain biking since I was 18 years old, so I like giving back to what helps keep me sane and keeps other people sane out there." Big ups to everyone who attended and helped reopen the Flow Trail for a long summer ahead! Check out all the photos courtesy of Jay Melena here. The last Dig Day of the season is coming up this Saturday, April 27 with Current eBikes! Learn more and sign up here.
