Parks Master Plan Update!
August 9, 2017
The City of Santa Cruz’s Parks Master Plan, which includes recommendations for increased mountain bike access and mountain bike specific directional trails, is continuing to move through the public process (click here to learn more about the plan). In June the Parks and Recreation Commission voted 4-3 to include staffs recommendations on mountain biking. This was a great, albeit narrow, victory for the mountain bike community. The plan will now go on for a final review by the parks and recreation commission (sometime in September), then go to council for review (likely also in September), then go through the CEQA environmental review process before coming back to council for final approval. Sounds like a headache right? Well here are a few things you can do to help:

- Sign our petition urging City Council to adopt City Staffs recommendations on mountain biking
- Write a letter to city council
- Attend and speak at upcoming public meetings (more info on timing coming soon)
- Help MBOSC spread the word by sharing info about this effort
- Donate to MBOSC to help us keep fighting the good fight
