Sierra Nevada Taps into Trail Maintenance

April 21, 2021
The new sponsor is fueling SCMTS' volunteer trail maintenance efforts in more ways than one.

We're proud to announce that Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has officially joined SCMTS as a sponsor for 2021! Their support will further our trail maintenance efforts and make on-the-trail volunteer events a little bit tastier.

In addition to making a financial contribution to support ongoing SCMTS trail work, Sierra Nevada is providing our team with a bounty of brews for us to give to volunteers. Our volunteers out at the DeLaveaga trail work last weekend were the first to enjoy these new refreshments after a full day of improving trails throughout the popular park.

In addition to brushing and removing invasive plants throughout the area, SCMTS volunteers improved an awkward drain crossing on DeLaveaga Loop Trail and helped our Trails Stewardship Coordinator, Liam, remove hazard trees on Old Road (Enchanted) Trail. Thank you to everyone who showed up to keep DeLaveaga trails in great shape!

After the trail work, the group headed back to the Specialized Experience Center on River Street for some crispy brews after a hard day.

Thank you to Sierra Nevada for joining us as a sponsor this year, and cheers to Specialized for hosting our volunteers! Check out our events page for the lowdown on upcoming opportunities to get your boots in the dirt alongside our team. Who knows - you might just get treated to a Sierra Nevada after the dig!
