Soquel Demonstration State Forest Closure Info

February 11, 2024
SDSF will have restricted access throughout its 2024 timber harvest... read on to learn when the trails will be closed to the public.

CAL FIRE is beginning timber harvest operations in SDSF this year to improve forest health and resilience. To keep forest workers and the public safe, some trail access is changing in the short term. Read all the updates below.

1. Effective immediately: The grey area of the map will be closed to the public except for hike/bike access on roadways on weekends and holidays. Singletrack trails will remain unaffected by this closure, however, weekday access along Hihn's Mill Road will no longer exist. This means there is no longer a fire road climb out of SDSF on weekdays.

2. Beginning February 26, Corral Road and Trail will close to the public. The area will reopen on October 15, 2024.

3. Beginning May 2, all trails and roads throughout Soquel Demonstration State Forest will close to the public on weekdays only. Access will be restored on October 15, 2024.

Thank you in advance for respecting these closures!
