Trail Academy Winter 23/24 Course Dates Announced
Trail Academy is our free class series that teaches students how to tackle any trail-related challenge. These classes are renowned for their fun atmosphere and hands-on approach, and we’re thrilled to introduce our winter lineup that will ramp up your trail skills in just three months.
Our fall 2023/winter 2024 Trail Academy class series has all-new, updated courses. Join us for a few classes on evenings and weekends, and become a certified SCMTS Trail Crew Leader in time for spring Dig Days.

121 - Introduction to Trail Maintenance on Wednesday, 12/6 from 6-8 p.m.
*222 - Basic Trail Maintenance-Brushing, Drain Clearing, and Grade Reversals on Saturday, 12/9 from 9-3 p.m.
*223: Trail Maintenance-Tread and Berm Repair on Saturday, 1/13 from 9-3 p.m.
Online Coursework: Trail Crew Leader Training on Thursday, 2/8 from 6-8 p.m.
Online Coursework: Trail Crew Leader Training on Thursday, 2/15 from 6-8 p.m.
Online Coursework: Trail Crew Leader Training on Thursday, 2/22 from 6-8 p.m.
*Field Coursework: Trail Crew Leader Training on Saturday, 2/24 from 9-3 p.m.
*This course is taught in the field at a local open space.

Trail Academy courses teach you to see beyond the trail tread and dig with confidence. You’ll gain deep expertise into trail design and construction concepts, and learn to diagnose trail challenges.
