Weekday Trailwork Update
May 24, 2019
Words by Drew Perkins
MBOSC staff and volunteers are out every week working to maintain and improve the our local parks. Here's a quick look at what we've been up to!
Every Wednesday evening at DeLaveaga Park a group led by long time crew leaders Tom Wilson and Andrea Lee meets up at 5:30 to work on the trails. Besides brushing, they have been making drainage improvements and rebuilt a section of the Shakespeare Connector trail that was destroyed when a large pine fell over this winter. They have a few more projects in the works including some repairs to another storm damaged area on the Upper Redwood Loop and drainage improvements on the other trails.

At SDSF MBOSC staff and volunteers work every Friday. Earlier this season they focused on Braille trail and did some great drainage work and tuned up other sections of the trail. The last month they have been finishing up projects addressing problems that popped up during this very wet winter and have been doing general tune up work on the Flow Trail. The rain last week was great for extending our dig season, and we plan to keep working at SDSF for a few more weeks until conditions are too dry for effective work.
