Enchanted Loop Reroute

Completed in 2016

SCMTS teamed up with State Parks for the first time to sustainably reroute this popular singletrack for cyclists, equestrians and hikers.

In the spring of 2016, SCMTS partnered with California State Parks to improve the sustainability of the popular Enchanted Loop Trail in Wilder Ranch State Park.

The SCMTS Trail Crew and volunteers worked closely with State Parks’ trail crew to decommission a badly eroded and entrenched section of the Enchanted Loop and construct a sustainable reroute bypassing the steep fall line section. This project marked the first time the two organizations teamed up on a trail project of this magnitude, and paved the way for future collaboration on maintenance and construction.

This project was funded by generous SCMTS donors like you. To improve the reach of donor funds, CA State Parks contributed labor and materials for the Enchanted Loop reroute project.
